What I Learned After 2 Years of Experimenting With Primaforce Phenibut Supplements, Highly Recommended

2 year expirement with phenibut dosage and benefitsSo it has been more than a year now since I first started trying Primaforce Phenibut (beta-phenyl-gamma-aminobutyric acid) as a friends recommendation that it can replace alcohol and is completely legal. I wanted to try it because while I often drink alcohol and have been able to almost never get a hangover using the protocol posted here, I still was drinking 5-7 nights a week after my workday and I figured using an alternative could give my liver some rest. Phenibut is legal in US/Canada and I got it shipped to many countries while traveling (Hungary, Romania, Vietnam, Bangkok).

So far, phenibut has been awesome for me, helping me feel calm, have a great time, and amazing sleep. But it has some limitations and mild side effects (or maybe benefits depending on what you want). With the uses I did, it can be used both as a replacement for alcohol or a great “mood enhancer/confidence booster” before a networking event or something stressful (public speaking?), WITHOUT the tipsiness/slurring of words of alcohol.

It is basically a precursor to what GHB (illegal drug in most countries) does instantly, making you happy and confident, similar to alcohol while being also legal. Another plus side if you want to take it before partying, you can mix it without any problem with alcohol (and I mean I sometimes went a bit extreme in combining them, 2.5g phenibut with 500-750ml of vodka, over the years) unlike GHB which I never tried but you do not want mix with alcohol. It also has some effects similar to MDMA such as relaxation, more fun sex. However, Phenibut is not perfect and has a few negatives to go along its strong benefits. Phenibut dosage and when to take it (very important)

While I explain the benefits below, please keep in mind I was looking for a strong benefit, some people take small doses to reduce anxiety, build more muscle and sleep better. I was going for a strong “happy” high similar to alcohol. For that, after more than a year my ideal phenibut dosage was 2-2.5g one night, per month. Obviously, do NOT go with this your first time, just in case as I tend to be very resistant to almost all drugs so its likely a smaller dose might be fine for others… I started with 500mg, a week later went to 1g, the next week, 1.5g then 2g.Only at 2g did I find any “euphoria benefits” that I was able to measure over and over when taken.

Something important to point out is I repeatedly noted during my notes that the effect if taken under 3 (ideally 4) weeks is really unnoticeable, your body is too used to it and to me it was worthless, EVERY time. So I only take it once a month now.

Finally, it takes HOURS for it to take effect, 4-6 hours to be exact over and over again. It is also better to take it 6 hours before than 4, especially if you take it to go party at night because I often (as I will elaborate later) feel so happy I don’t want to go to bed, so I sleep later then usual. Surprisingly it also helps with sleep quality (which is why some people take low dose phenibut for sleep everyday/often and also to help with insomnia) and I just wake up at my normal hours happy & relaxed, no side effects like a hangover from alcohol.

This is what a typical day/night looks like in terms of timing, which has been consistent every time.

Take at 8pm, feel happy by 11-midnight. Awake until 6-8am then have a great night.

My normal sleeping hours are 4-5am when I go party so I definitely stay up longer, not because I have insomnia but because I still feel too happy/energetic to go to bed, I often just watch videos or stay in my bed deep in thoughts.

Nowadays, I take it at 5-6pm (12 hours before i want it to end) so I feel the high earlier and go to sleep at the same hour as my usual party times.

If you go to bed earlier, or you are just using it to relax before a big networking event or something (and don’t want to look tipsy like on alcohol) just use it even earlier in the day so it ends faster. So, if you have a cocktail party at 7pm to midnight, take it at 1pm. I highly recommend it for better who are shy or axious about their first impression at a big business.

Summary of Benefits of Phenibut from my experience

Phenibut reduces axiety and makes you happy1) You feel very at ease with everything, similar to alcohol without the “dizzyness” or side effects. It really kills anxiety and basically I feel high on life without it looking obvious I took something besides alcohol (if you even mix it with alcohol), to others. You don’t look like a guy on some crazy energetic drug like crack or speed but just a very positive guy. You could take it before going to a restaurant, a funeral, anything really.

2) Great combined with alcohol (or without). If you combine with alcohol, you probably will need way less alcohol before you feel “happy”. So you save on alcohol $$ and side effects.

3) Helps you sleep better, but I have not tested taking it often, as with the doses I take my body stops giving me any high if I take it again within 3 weeks. Since it takes time to take effect, I would not take it on a given night I discover I have insomnia as it would take too long to kick in…  Instead I would take melatonin and do as in my great sleep guide.

5) Long lasting (~4-6 hours before buzz, 12 hours before it feels like its fading away)

6) Sex can feel better & you might feel more horny/action taking, similar to some drugs like MDMA phenibut can enhance it a bit, its not huge in my experience, maybe because often its mixed with alcohol in my case, however it does come with a side effect of orgasm is harder to reach (but feels great if you do).

My phenibut side effects

1) You cannot feel the effects again for 3-4 weeks at the dosage I take for a “big phenibut high”, unless you would take an enormous dose the next time (4g+?). DO NOT DO THIS! This is when phenibut can get dangerous! It is possible to have “phenibut withdrawal effects” if you take it often, I never had any. Your body after all, does QUICKLY adapt to previous doses, upping it constantly day after day is just dangerous. I tried it on a weekly basis at 2g and it was worthless, so once 3 (ideally 4+ weeks) is best.

2) Very hard to ejaculate during sex! This might be actually be a benefit for those with Premature ejaculation, but for me, and this was repeatable many times, it is very hard (but not impossible) to have an ejaculation if combined with alcohol. So if you have premature ejaculation… Well this is actually a benefit!

3) Keeping myself awake longer than usual. As I mentioned before, it keeps me awake longer but I do not have insomnia, I simply do not feel tired or want to sleep immediately, I would rather just party more, walk around or watch movies. However, I DO feel great the next day so it is not a negative, but simply a reason to take it even earlier in the day to prevent this (and enjoy the “happy” earlier, I can easily do work under the effects if it hits me before I meet friends to party).

primaforce phenibutFirst off, not all brands are equal in purity, make sure to test low doses of a brand each time you change. I personally have always used primaforce phenibut which has worked well for me and the only option anyway on on iherb (use my coupon code IFI934 for $5-10 off), with the 250mg capsules since it is more convenient for me. It often goes out of stuck so make sure to use the “get notified” if it is. I tried searching for it on amazon.com for those in the US but I cannot find it for some reason currently, even under other brand names! It seems to have been removed for now, please let me know if you see it come back.

Finally, I recently read a great summary book on phenibut for those skeptical or that want more information, showing its history and the experience of the author who used phenibut differently than me, only taking small doses of 250mg-1g many days in a row or doing something like 2 weeks in/2 weeks out for a week over an entire year. However by the end of the book he does mention that he does it like me now, only use it on days he needs a boost. He had the same benefits/side effects with sex but something that he had which I never did was the phenibut withdrawal symptoms (by taking it for a long time at high doses, then cutting off), but they seem not that bad in his experience, in fact to him it reminded him of a psychadelic experience similar to ayahuasca or mushrooms. Either way, I am not looking for withdrawal effects, so I just take it for a fun boost every now and then.

 

I highly recommend phenibut for everyone to try, not only as a replacement for alcohol if you rarely drink but it has a lot of other health benefits researched in Russia (where it was invented in the 1960s) that I did not mention such as growth hormone production, anti aging effects & better sleep. I am thinking of using it days I go to the gym at low doses on gym days, not only will it give me more energy, the growth hormone effect and better sleep will definitely help out. I would probably have to forgo the “big boost” once a month if I do that, but it is something I will try next.

  1. I also go out to party most nights and drink a decent amount of alcohol so a replacement that doesn’t give me any dizziness or other related side effects would be perfect. I understand that it’s best to not take Phenibut every day, but even if I can take it once a week, that’s fine. I will get some and try 1g at first to see how I feel.

    1. Great to hear! It is definitely a cool substitute, and if you are not stupid with it (using it often) it also carries health benefits, unlike alcohol.

If you enjoy beer and its after effects than I’m sure reasons reasons can be found to use it (Theirs benefits/side effects to almost everything) but personally if I want alcohol I like better vodka + no sugar filler. I’ll get a bit (or very) tipsy and often don’t get a hangover + does not affect my weight at all. I went down to under 10% body fat when I was drinking vodka with no sugar every night for a few weeks while travelling in Ukraine. I’d rather get nutrients and such from food.

Ignorance I suppose… Or most people want something on demand, its the same with alcohol hangovers which I easily prevent with my supplement stack, as long as I take it 30 minutes before drinking. Seems simple but for some people its too much forward thinking (for better or worse, it does make me “plan out” partying more, which can be lame)

    1. Good luck! If you have no problems with the digestion of normal vitamins/supplements (which can be hard on the liver) you should be fine!

I’ve taken 500mg doses the past two days and have seen a positive effect on my anxiety and have been able to maintain a positive disposition more easily. I haven’t felt too much in regards to sleep quality, but then again I wasn’t paying attention to that aspect of the experience.

  7. This is interesting I’ve tried similar things for mood elevating to no avail. With this, do you have to gradually increase your dosage? Is it possible to develop a tolerance?

    1. Yep, exactly.. Increase it slowly but make sure to space it out a lot, at least a week, I do 1 month as I mention.

Ok I have been using it for about 5month it started out small amounts then it got to larger amounts I use it every day and it has helped me in many ways I forgot about crack and all the other drugs like ex and cocaine and bath salts and my biggest problem was crack so I have made that accomplishment but there is one thing that I’m still fighting which is iPods.

  9. I would just like to say, I take this 4 to 5 days a week. Generally during the week. And in way lower doses, 500 mg twice a day, and the benefits are staggering. I’m happier, more confident, more social and fun and I sleep SOOOOOOOO good. You do need to lay off it 2-3 days a week to let it flush out your system. But all in all, I don’t drink much anymore, I’m happier, hornier (which is great for the wife) and all around feel better.

    1. Just so you know, you are going to build a tolerance (get less and less effect from 1g), and have very heavy withdrawals if you keep using 1g per day that often. Phenibut is a godsend to people who arent super social and have problems with mood, because you feel really good and enjoy life, but be cautius with it. EVERYONE would take it everyday if it didnt have side effect, but it does, and its one of the worst drugs to do alot, i have read plenty of stories of people who it after a long use made them feel like shit for as long as 6months.

    2. Nice sounds good I personally like to use bigger doses every now and then but I am tempted to give it a try of something like 5 days on, 5 days off and see if I feel it improves my quality of life/ get more done overall.

  10. The first time I tried it I took 1.5 grams. And I fell asleep before I actually felt anything. The timing seems to be everything. I just took 3 grams about 3 hours ago, and I feel fantastic!

    1. Yup you have to take it very early before whatever event (if you planned before going out/meeting friends/business event). Takes at least 4 hours for me, I tested when my stomach is empty or full many times and not sure so far I see a difference.

  11. First time I took it i took 2.5 grams. Passed out but woke up feeling ok. Very dizzy tho like drunk but i did feel good. I drove to work shitty music sounded amazing. Did feel a lil tipsy while going into work however I do take adderall for add so it could have had a bad effect together. But at work I felt like I didn’t give a rats ass about the customers in the store which was good for me bc I didn’t seem as annoyed. However a few hours passed I did get really sick at work. But all in all it was not a bad experience. Probably jus took to much first time. Next I’ll try to use it without the adderall or lower the dose and see how thatgoes but all in all it is qorth trying it

    1. Yeah you should start low, I am resistant to almost all “mood” drugs and I take 2.5g to feel a noticeable buzz (But then I dont take it for many weeks, 4 at minimum). I started at like 1g, 1.5g, 2g until I hit 2.5g. I would imagine 2.5g is too much for you, at least the first time. Your resistance probably shot up a lot now for the next few days weeks so if you did 2-2.5g within the next week you might have a less strong effect which might be where you want to be. If you wait a few weeks like 2-3 I would try at 1.5g

  12. I can be moody, depressed, and socially anxious (mild to moderate). My memory is relatively poor due to inattention, and a long hx of sleep deprivation. Straterra did not work for me. Lexapro 20 mg seems necessary. I just tried Phenibut 500 mg by SNS last night which allowed a very sleep deprived me feel relaxed, social, and reasonably energetic. But when sleep deprived, getting to relaxed is easy. Then I tried 500 mg this morning before I conducted a professional psycho/social interview. I slept seven hours. What was most amazing was my level of engagement, mental clarity, and memory. I wish I could take it more often. It also engages within an hour or less. I wish there was more research on this as well. Thanks for the post!

  13. It’s not a precursor to GHB. Phenibut is GABA with a phenyl ring added to it so it can cross the blood brain barrier. Picamilon is GABA binding with niacin however I have not experienced the same effects from Picamilon. Phenibut is best however please avoid using it too much and limit dosage as this stuff builds tolerance quickly!

  14. It’s not exactly a precursor to what GHB does. Even though both Phenibut and GHB (along with GBL) affect GABA-B and dopamine, Phenibut does not affect the GHB receptors, like GHB itself does.

  15. GHB is much stronger effect and builds up tolerance way slower. Can’t compare it. As Justin mentioned, is correct.

    Ive been addicted to GHB, stopping with that more then 1 year is the absolute worst. Allot of addicts HAVE to go into rehab as they simply cant taper it off.

    Phenibut is the answer. It can help year long GHB addicts easily quit. It takes away around 80-90% of the withrawal syndroms! I have no clue why it’s not beeing used that way more.

  16. I have one gram, its 11an and I’m wondering if it will help me feel great today and sleep well tonight. I am female, 56kg, 124cm tall, I read another article that says at these stats 1gm daily is an addictive amount if taken frequently. May try 1.5 in 2 weeks time then up it by 0.5 every 2 weeks as I want the euphoric effect. Once I find that dose it will be taken one per month at the most. Does this sound like a good idea? Please reply, I’ll check back frequently and report my experiences. Want to take it now! I’ve got things to do that require more confidence? I’ve also eaten 1.30 hrs ago I heard it does nothing unless taken on an empty stomach? Also 1-4/5 hrs to feel any effect? Guess it’s down to the individual.

    1. Yes your idea is good from my experience, I did something similar (2 week breaks between tries at first – now its usually 1 month minimum) so give it a try. Once you find a dose that you feel the euphoric effect you probably will need to take a 1 month break like me to feel that feeling again with the same dose.

      I also think its better to take it on an empty stomach, and maybe not eat for 1-2 hours. I sometimes took it while full and still had it strong but I find a few other times that in my notes I marked that I was full it was not as strong so I try to aim to take on empty stomach.

      3 hours is usually the minimum for me to feel it but I think that can vary by individual.

      Oh yeah and I don’t think there is anything problem with doing it 1-2 more times per month if you want to try but for me it usually was a waste of time because even at almost double the dose I don’t feel anything so I’d rather just wait a month instead of taking something ridiculous like 10g+.

  17. I had high hopes for primaforce phenibut for insomnia relief. I have been on many medications. The antipsychotics and stopping them caused extreme insomnia. So i got phenibut for it. When I took the phenibut I didn’t know how to do I dumped the contents on my tongue then washed it down with water. The thing is it is acidic and my teeth actually now feel like they have lost a small protective layer of enamel. I should have just dumped the contents in water and drank it but thought the way I did it was better.

    The phenibut actually made my insomnia worse because it raised dopamine levels (more about that here: http://corpina.com/positive-negative-side-effects-phenibut/).

    The only good thing is that it didn’t completely keep me up at night. It is not effective for insomnia caused by antipsychotics. But the main reason I’m rating it low is because my teeth are now sensitive after using a whitening mouthwash. I should have got the free amino acid version as it is not acidic. So I would say not to let any phenibut crystals touch any teeth because it can cause weak enamel. This product however seems to work well for a lot of people I am just a special case in terms of sleep.

  19. I am a recovering almost alcoholic (I went through 3~ liters of wine a day just nursing it all day for over a year, long past my sweats but mentally I still miss my crutch)

    I wouldn’t say I was a full blown alcoholic but it did interfere with my life, ceased to have any effect other than to fill its own absence and give me bad acid burns.

    This stuff was tremendously helpful. I take approx a gram of it every other to every third day now (when I was going through physical withdrawal I would take 2-3 gs daily and you do get tolerance fast)

    Mainly for mood now. When I get a bit raging and weary and trained myself to balm with drink I have a glass of water with this. The way I use it I get about 2 hours of being uplifted, feeling a bit renewed like I’ve reached a happy drunk level without inebriation. It’s 8 hour half life I think. It starts going down but for the duration of the day you feel better off. Not high, just not sad.

    Its important to drink a lot of water, it will give you cotton mouth. I drink about a quart of water and another quarts worth of various herbal tea’s but I think its safe to assume this stuff dehydrates you a bit and you should def not take large doses if your drinking heavy or all cokes and shit. Be hydrated or cotton mouth and headaches will get common. At nights it seems to give pretty vivid dreams and sexually its much like opiates. It desensitizes you to pleasure a bit,not an issue I have but if you do you should get more thrusts in before the sword fight is over. (Be doubly hydrated on this + exertion)

    Doesn’t taste bad at all. A touch of lemon. The powder itself is very fine and crystalline.

    As far as herbal tea’s if I drink a dose of this and a few cups of passionflower there must be some synergy going on because I will fall asleep wherever I’m at. I’m talking face on the table wake up with table cloth patterns etched in cheeks drooling like I was a perfectly function 7 yr old again without any pickiness and preference time gave me.

  20. I’d like to try it but not to get too high, just to relieve mild, situational anxiety. How much (mg.) of phenibut would you say are equal to .25 mg. of Xanax (my former anxiety pill) or Klonopin?

    1. Hmm I personally only feel it well if I take a big dose at 3g+. So I think experiment with 1g to start and see if you see a mild anxiety reduction. If not keep upping it. Don’t forget if it does not work that you might need to cycle out of it(take a break).

  21. If I take phenibut, I fall asleep very well, but I wake up very tired and worn out. Then I end up sleeping more, like about 16 hours, and I’m still tired.

    Also, it doesn’t decrease my social anxiety, it actually increases it. At high dosages that is, and it was a few years ago when I still had a lot of social anxiety. I guess it would be better now since my social anxiety is better. Yesterday I did a small dose and I felt more confident. Later today I’m gonna try a big dose, see what it does.

    Another strange effect at high dosages is that it gives me a strange kind of dizziness. Not in the way alcohol does. It’s hard to explain but it seems like my brain, or my mind’s position is spatially less connected gravity and the environment or something like that. If I take an overdose (about 4 grams) I have to lay down and not move my head otherwise my head feels nauseous instead of my stomach.

  22. I last used phenibut like Monday,today is Sat and I took 3.3 grams and felt nothing so I just took another 1.8 grams hoping to feel something but I think it’s unlikely. Am I using it too frequently or do I just need more? I don’t want to keep wasting it. Help!!

    1. I think you should wait at least a month before trying it again, I know if I take Monday I wouldn’t feel anything and 3.3grams should be enough that from my experience and my friends you should feel it. So I think wait a month, give time for your body to reset.!

  23. I am 83 yrs old and love this stuff. Take 300 mgs HCL. I take it every morning. Please don’t tell me I have to take a break from it. I live alone and have major physical disabilities. Any advice?

    1. Don’t take it every day, try taking it 2 to 3 times a week at a dose between 750-1500 mg a day. On other days to keep you feeling good, try Kratom which is a leaf that is ground into a powder.

  24. I just got some of this six today. I took 3 300MG capsules about 3 hours ago and feel nothing. So i just took 2 more. Hopefully i feel something because I’m talking it for opiate withdrawl. I’m on day 3 no opiates so I’m hoping this stuff takes some of the edge off.

  25. Strangely, no one is seems aware that substances like Agmatine or Fasoracetam helps to lower the tolerance and withdrawal symptoms of phenibut. According to some users ( i haven’t tried them yet) you can increase your frequency of use of phenibut while keeping a high sensitivity to it. I will experiment it in the few weeks/months ahead, only then i’ll know for sure.

    1. Interesting, I have not heard about that yet… I hope you report back with your experience using those. I’m not sure if using other substances to lower tolerance is a good long term idea but it could be worthwhile to know for every now and then.

  26. I am traveling to Thailand next year and I’m wondering if I can take phenibut with me in my toiletry bag and have no issues. What is the legality of phenibut in Thailand? Also could I just have it shipped there and then pick it up?

  27. Phenibut is really awesome when you drink Kratom along with it. When you are coming off of meds, such as opiates, it takes the edge off and makes you feel 100% better. When you take it like stated above ( a couple times a month) you will feel it even more. When I take Phenibut alone, it does nothing. When I mix it with the Kratom though is when I am in such a good mood, feeling no pain as well as not feeling so anti social, like I usually do.

    1. Never heard of that mix, thanks for sharing! Besides alcohol I tried it with an “average” dose of mdma before and it definitely was a a very good effect better than mdma alone.
